However, when you take a closer look at the names of these tools, the common root words tend to be Google and Microsoft. It these two tech giants that run the realm of office and productivity tools, that begs the question which one is better?

In order to compare both properly, these are the matchups you need to consider:

Microsoft Office vs Google Docs
- Word vs Docs
- Excel vs Sheets

Notes

In order to determine which one prevails here, we have to consider these questions
 - Which is provides for editing and formatting options
 - Which makes working with a team easier
 - Which is better for a professional or school environment

In terms of editing and formatting options, Microsoft's products are much better, however, Google drive overcomes any of these hurdles with some chrome extensions which can allow it to match Microsoft's products.

When talking about teamwork the first thing that comes to mind is file sharing. Google products completely blow Microsoft out of the market here. When looking at the email spectrum, Gmail easily holds the top spot. With this, users are more likely to use Gsuite apps as a majority of people have those emails as well

This one tends to quite straightforward, Microsft word, PowerPoint, and Excel offers more than Google Docs, Slides and Sheets. All of the Microsoft products just offer more editing features and are more often used in professional environments. Microsoft products available on desktop and the web while Google's products are only available online.
